Grand Jubilee on 30 Oct. Show was great. Trey Wilson of New South wasn't there but Bud Hutchison did a fine job filling in. Callie Agler was at her best as was Todd Bradshaw. The Grand Band is the best band in town IMHO. They can play any kind of music and do it exceptionally well.

Lisa Layne Christmas Show. This show was fun and not the typical Christmas Show. It was sentimental, traditional, and funny. Even the theatre owner gets into the act. Lisa's vocal talent and her sense of humor were on display throughout the show; first half was the regular show and second half is based on her Christmas CD, All I Want for Christmas is You. Beautiful vocals, Christmas theme, and excellent musicianship makes this a great show. Interaction between Lisa, the band, and the audience are fun. The show is at 1:00PM, Tue - Sat.

When we were in Branson a few weeks ago we went to the Grand Ladies show at the God and Country Theater. We hadn't planned on seeing this show but a couple we were to stop and see in Springfield on the way home decided to drive down to Branson on Saturday and asked if we would go to this show with them. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but Mary Lou Turner, Jean Shepard and Jody Miller put on a very good show. Not only are they very talented singers but they are very funny too. I could be wrong but I don't think all the humor was rehearsed and that really added to the show. There were several people in the audience from Ireland and Jody and Jean announced that they will both be touring Ireland in the next year. The group from Ireland knew about their tours already and said they would definitely attend at least one of their shows. The Grand Ladies show is Mon-Sat at 8:00 p.m. www.godandcountrytheatre.com/id8.html

My wife and I went to Grand Jubilee 27 NOV to see their Christmas Show. Everyone was there in top form. The Christmas Show takes up the first half and is non-stop fun, great music and vocals performing the classic standards and light-hearted fun songs. The Christmas Show isn't just Christmas songs inserted into the show; it is totally rescripted specifically for the Christmas Season. All the comedy, with a lot of ad libs, is written specifically for the season. You've got to hear New South sing a cappella, "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear." Callie and Todd were featured with powerful performances of Christmas classics. It was great to hear New South singing backup for them during some of their featured songs. Jim Dandy and Mike Patrick both gave outstanding serious Christmas recitations. Listen to Wayne Massingale on the mandolin and violin during the recitations; it's beautiful. The Grand Band plays a bluegrass segment of "Jingle Bells" that's done like you've never heard it before. Even Michael W. Davis plays mandolin on this number. There are a lot of Christmas shows to chose from; Grand Jubilee is one you don't want to miss.

We saw SIX. We only stayed for about six minutes!
They were good, but the show lasted too long.

For a new member, that post was very ballsy! I hope you come back to the forums, because it would be very slothful if you didn't. So great it deserves a capital G, right? I must say he is a very good Elvis impersonator. I think he deserves to get out of Branson and on to a place more profitable. I am not an Elvis fan, but I'll hand it to the guy, he's more than your average impersonator.

On a side note, my family and I went to see SIX back in October of last year and we all enjoyed ourselves. It was an overall pleasant experience. I would recommend the show to anyone who has kids ages 10-16.

May I ask why you suggest kids ages 10-16? The show still sucks whether you are 10, 16, or 100! ;D

The last show I saw was The Sprit of Christmas.
I love dance shows and the Branson Variety Theater has some of the best dance shows in Branson.
