I HIDE and don't answer the door. I live near a school on a long uphill street and people park on both sides of the road and let their kids out. The kids can go up the hill and back down and hit about 30 houses. I also live in a TriPlex so they think they can get 3 for 1 at my place.
The first year here (1995), I got 5 bags of candy and I went thru them in 30 minutes. I had kids lined up down the front steps. I have NEVER passed out candy again.
I had my mailbox baseball batted a few years ago on Halloween but this time, nothing happened. Did anyone have any problems?

I was expecting a lot of trick or treaters and we might have had 12 kids. We bought a lot of candy too. Nothing happened over here.

I would give them lots of sugar, chase then around and get them wired and then take them home. Girlfriend was NOT amused. I am sure I would NEVER do that on purpose! No, not me!... (add evil laugh here).

How is this possible you may be wondering? It's actually quite simple and works off the good old law of supply and demand. Every year thousands upon thousands of cars, trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles are seized or repossessed by government law enforcement agencies, the IRS, local law enforcement, and banks from people who can no longer afford the payments or those involved in criminal activities. There are limited storage facilities for all these vehicles so to save money the government and private companies involved auction them off to recoup some of the money needed for processing and storage. As long as these costs are covered with the sale of the car they don't really care what the final sale price is. In many cases vehicles will start being bid at just a few hundred dollars.
