I had a wreck yesterday. It wasn't my fault. This lady ran out in front of me. I am pretty stiff this morning. I will see how my girl is when she gets up. If she don't feel good we will go to the ER. I am scared to do stuff like that. I don't DO ER's... I have always heard the second day is worse...so that would be tomorrow. I hope that is not true in my case. Maybe if I go take a good hot shower in a minute maybe it will loosen up my muscles and make me feel better. It is down to my chest and it goes through there to my back. My muscle behind my ankle bothers me too. I guess for continuously slamming on the brakes. You would have thought the lady would have stopped in her tracks when we hit...she kept on going slowly and my car kept grinding hers all the way down...... She had the nerve to drive off too. A cop was sitting there and saw everything. He had to go chase her down. She said she didn't see me pull over. She looked to be about 80 years old. The officer said he was going to be nice to her and just give her a ticket for reckless driving. I guess if we were hurt maybe he would have given her one for fleeing...I dunno. It happened right at an intersection. I sent Kbradleyar some pics of it.

That car sure is pretty!! Mine is fixable. I thought it was totaled, but my brother said it could be fixed. I will go the doctor today. I got up and could hardly walk! After taking a shower it helped loosen my muscles. Wish me luck with the insurance company!!

Don't let the insurrance company push you around. Some are nice and some try to push women around. Get MIDEVIL on their rear if they start saying "we can't do that".
I know, hire TQOM to talk to them if they give you are hard time. She will straighten them out fast.

I made the "Mistake" of posting on another Branson board that I tought there should be a driver's test at 65. If you failed the driving test, you lost your license.
That caused a "CRAP STORM" of posts all calling me names. I didn't know to later that a lot of the posters were ABOVE 65. I said 'they should have a driving test".
There is at least 1 state that has a driving test at 65. I am not sure but I remember that the law was passed and then some group was saying 'age descrimination' and was trying to get it struck down.
I have almost been killed 3 times by old drivers. I was able to dodge or get out of the way. One time I chased the man down and he didn't even remember driving thru that stop sign. He didn't even know his name I don't think. If a person is so senile to walk and talk at the same time, then they should NOT be behind the wheel of a car.
They arrest you for DUI (Driving Under Influence) but what about DWS (Driving While Senile)?

Maybe you struck a nerve. ;D There are some "old timers" over there.

I posted it again on the wreck post by Critter. I already got 2 people trying to say I was lying about the woman being old. I find it VERY funny.
PS: It appears that the people on "THERE" can't think anyone can communicate by any means THAN by open forum. It never occured to 2 people (so far) that there are other ways to communicate.
PPS: The fun has begun over there. They have already resorted to making "fat" comments.

OOPS! I was hoping not to start something over there. In the beginning I was afraid of mentioning she was an elderly lady. Lady on one of the other posts I thought I finally mentioned it, but I reread them and noticed I never had.
I hope they got in contact with her yestersday. She never called in about her claim. They went ahead and started it for her for me. ;D
I noticed yesterday it is making a deep noise when you gas it up...like when you first start off. My brother thinks it is the motor mount.

You didn't start anything I DID. I did it on purpose.
I DO believe in the age testing. I have sent letters to congress and to the govenor and everybody else I could find. I have had friends hurt and a past girlfriend CUT IN HALF all from old senile drivers. I have tried to get a testing bill in Arkansas so at a certain age, people would be tested. If they can't do that, then have a driver's test done ever 5 or 10 years to check to see if a person isn't able to handle a car anymore FOR WHATEVER REASON.
As I said "they have laws for DUI but a person that can't remember their name or their kids names can get behind a wheel and drive". In the last few years there has been many people killed from senile drivers. A driver drove thru a open market in California, just a few weeks/month ago an old driver drove thru a bike race. The picture showed people bouncing off the car. The driver NEVER saw the bikers. It turned out that he had been diagnosed with althiemers years ago. He could not remember where he lived but he was out driving. I think he killed several people. There are dozens of examples.
These deaths could all be prevented except no one wants to test "old people". That is fine, TEST EVERYBODY but get the people that are not able to drive off the streets.
The people on "the other board" got angry BOTH times I posted this. They are old and I am trying to take away their right to drive. They can NOT think about the drivers that are on the road each day that CAN'T drive because they have dementia or health issues. This time "she" started making "fat comments" to try and insult me which is just RUDE but that is common over there. If "she" keeps up making fat comments, she might loose some of her friends since MANY are not skinny.
Note: In high school I drove up on a wreck. It was a girl I had been dateing. She had been cut into 2 pieces by an old man. He was driving his 50s model truck and he couldn't stay on his side of the road. He swerved into her lane and hit her car right at the metal piece between the front and back doors. His truck caught that piece and his truck pulled it off her car, the one problem is her seat belt was attached to it. It cut her stomach like a knife, her head and chest was in the passenger floorboard. her waist down was still in her seat.
The guy was 72 years old. He couldn't walk without a walker. His truck had dents and scratches all over it from him hitting things. I arrived and saw the wreck, the guy was oblivious to everything. He was so senile he didn't/couldn't understand that he hit and killed someone. His family said "he wasn't supposed to drive since he can't SEE but he does anyway". They didn't mention that fact that he thought the year was 1958. Well he killed a very sweet girl because he was OLD AND SENILE. The cops slapped him on the wrist and he lost his license AFTER HE KILLED HER. From that point on, I have been trying to get a driver's test for eldery. And YES, I saw everything. I pulled up before the ambulance/police got there and I saw her dead body.

I'm so sorry about your friend KB. I agree 100% that the elderly should be given a driving test. There are multiple effects on elderly drivers. - A slowdown in response time
- A loss of clarity in vision and hearing
- A loss of muscle strength and flexibility
- Drowsiness due to medications
- A reduction in the ability to focus or concentrate
- Lower tolerance for alcohol
