I can get a real good deal at Settle Inn. Have any of our forum members ever stayed there? If so, what did you think?

I have stayed there twice over the years. I never had problems but I am NOT picky. If it is clean and quiet, I am happy. I don't require a fancy room and this place is GREAT for a person that don't super fancy. It isn't run down just normal "Holiday Inn" quality. Some people have complained on another forum that it wasn't fancy. I consider them the ones that would complain if you hung them with a new rope. It is 1) CLEAN, 2) Quiet 3) priced decently.
If I had a choice, I prefer the Green Mountain Inn just because the people are nicery. I am not saying it is better or worse. I consider them the same quality. A nice clean room with a TV, and bathroom but the people that ran the Green Mountain on Green Mountain Drive (almost across the road from Settle In) are SUPER nice. They really TRY to help everybody have a good stay.
If you want to save some money. There is a place called the "Good Sheapard Inn". It is a mom/pop place right off the freeway on 76 that I stayed at several times last year. I had seen it everytime I go to Branson but I always stayed at "fancier" places. I was there last July 4th and a storm came thru and I didn't want to drive home in the hard rain so I got a room there because I was headed home when I decided to stay. The room was clean, nice and cheap. I paid $29.99 plus tax. It was as good as rooms I had paid $80 to $90 on the strip. It isn't fancy but it is a "hidden treasure" of a place. After the 4th, I always stayed at that place. Each room was nice, not fancy, not dirty. Just clean and quiet.
This was last year and i have not been there this year to EITHER place.

I think we're going to give Settle Inn a try. We really like the idea of an indoor pool. Thanks for the info, KB.

I've stayed there a few times. It's a nice place, the rooms wre clean. They have a ncie breakfast also. They have 3 buildings. Two of the buildings have pools in them. If you have a SDC pass, you get a discount, or at least they did when I had a SDC pass and stayed there. I think you will like it.
