Does anyone know when they open for the season. I was planning on coming into Branson and doing some shopping a few weeks ago and I called during Friday evening and no one answered. I called again Saturday and no one answered so I assumed they were closed during the "off season". I never got around to coming into town and shopping (not because of the place being closed but got busy).
I was hopeing someone might see the sign out front and let me know when they open. I like to go there and have lots of King Crablegs on the buffet. That is one of my favorite things to do in Branson.

I think they're open all year round. On their website it says:
Hours of Operation: 7 Days a Week, 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
It doesn't list any closing season, so I think it's probably open.

I went to Starvin Marvin yesterday March 12. I had about 10 pounds of crablegs. They were VERY good but they didn't have the King crablegs anymore. I asked if they were going to add them to the buffet when the "tourist season" starts and I was told "NO, they got too expensive".
It was still GREAT.

My first trip to Branson was in 1982. I've never been to Starvin Marvin's, but KB just convinced me to go there on my next trip.

I've been there one time. I've never gone back. It was so dirty in there and nasty. Maybe they have cleaned it up or have new owners or managers.

I would not call the place dirty. The tables are clean. They try to keep the carpet clean but I have seen people spill food (entire plates) on the carpet. They clean what they can up but have to wait till later to shampoo it. The buffet area is clean. The Men's bathrooms are always clean. Sorry I have never been in the Woman's bathroom. The "decore" is of a sea shanty or a cajan boat house. The walls are rough wood. This makes the place look a little "run down" but they were trying to get the look of "Red Lobster" but failed.
I only go there for the Crablegs and vegies to complement the Crablegs. I have been there for Breakfast once and it was good. I eat lunch there once and it wasn't bad but there wasn't a lot of selection on the buffet but the price was under $6. The dinner is when they have the all you can eat seafood buffet includinb crablegs/froglegs/shrimp for $24.99. A little high unless you are going to eat lots of crablegs.
They have a full menu and I have been told their chineese food is good. I was surprised but I have seen several people order it off the menu. Girlfriend's kids like their burgers and fries but I have never had them.
Whipper Snappers has the lobster and Crablegs BUT they never seem to have any food on the buffet. The Lobster was OK, the Crablegs were good but they would only bring about 1 plate out at a time and before they hit the pan, they would be gone (a bunch of starving people standing waiting). I think people had battles over the Lobsters and the "first blood" won. My main complaint with Whipper Snapppers was the lack of food. The price was $29.99 to stand and stare at a empty buffet. I have NOT gone back.
