I think this looks good. I remember reading a short story many years ago about something like this. It was in a Sci/Fi magazine long, long ago, in a time far far away.
The story was so good, I remember it still 25 or more years later. It seems to be a modern version of the short story. I plan to go and see it before it leave the theaters.

I just saw the movie 2 days ago. Here's my review.
The movie starts out at a very quick pace, taking you back to his childhood and how he became a "jumper." I liked this because movies that take forever to get to the point just annoy me. It doesn't take long before you are introduced to the people called "Paladins" (sp?) They don't believe the jumpers should have the power to go wherever they want at any given time. So, that's the main conflict, other than the love scene between the David and his high school sweetheart.
I couldn't believe that no one was actually killed in this movie! It's tough to make a movie like this, that can obtain one's interest without anyone being killed, but the writers managed to pull it off. At the end, Samuel L. Jackson was left at the Grand Canyon, which left the option of a sequel. I really hope they don't make more than one sequel. This movie was great as is, and I think another one could hurt this movie a lot. Great movie, but I'm just not to thrilled about a sequel. One thing that struck me as odd in the movie was his mother. She left him when he was 5 yrs old, because she was a Paladin and he had his first "jump". What kind of mother does that? She really had no point in the movie other than freeing him from questioning.
Overall, I give it an 8/10.
